We Remember David Meyers

What was David like as a little boy?
When David was small he told his mom he wanted to have 100 kids when he got married. His mom said to David, well your wife might not want 100 children. But when David was a teacher at Elegant Child, he did have 100 kids. And they all loved Mr. David. David also always had the capability to sit with his father and really grasp the subject they were discussing, evaluate it and understand it.

What did David like most about going to Lafayette High School and the Rockwood community?
David got to explore many opportunities at Lafayette. He loved history and was intrigued with the Civil War. He was an excellent violinist. He took Spanish four years in a row. He was very future oriented too: he was always focused on keeping his GPA up and carefully plotting out his class schedule to improve his chances of getting into a good college.

What were David's goals for his future?
David wanted to be a teacher- he loved children. He also wanted to provide for his new bride and get their home together started.

What do we want people to remember most about David?
David was very charismatic and the life of the party. He was a very hard worker who loved his family very much.

David's scholarship recognizes a student who holds a part-time job, in addition to placing great importance on school
